Permanence Collection

Inspired by works of art in the Walker’s permanent collection, Permanence Collection by Kira Obolensky and Ed Bok Lee, is a humorous, elliptical and ironic exploration of class and the ways in which we attempt the impossible transformation of our realities into works of art. Listen in as this short play comes to life through actors stationed amongst the artworks. Two nights only (May 8 & May 15).

A man named George Bush arrives one evening in The Hague, Netherlands, where he faces the difficult task of going on trial the next day. Before that however, he has an equally difficult job: getting through the night.

As Dick Jones works out of his basement to save America’s children from online predators, a journalist fed up with sensational news reporting goes undercover to expose Dick’s true desires. A collision of Jacobean drama, contemporary visual art and transcripts from Internet chatrooms, SadGrrl13 is a dangerous tale of average Americans who believe that revenge is the same as justice.

The 2007-08 PIZZA LUCÉ ROUNDTABLE READING SERIES
A Roundtable Reading is a fascinating hands-on cold-reading experience, a great way for playwrights to gain a better understanding of their script's performance power with the help of talented Twin Cities actors and attentive audiences. Roundtable readings take place in the Center's Waring Jones Theater at 6:30 pm on select Monday nights from September through June.
