Member Stage Readings are an opportunity for members to hear their new plays with the support of the Playwrights' Center and our resources.  For the 2012-13 season, based on feedback that members provided in the membership survey, we will begin offering two different types of member readings to best meet your needs and objectives. Member Stage readings are open to all Playwrights' Center members, except Core Writers and recipients of Playwrights' Center fellowships. 

It's just another night of popcorn and Jeopardy, when Mr. and Mrs. Hopkins receive a phone call that changes their lives forever. Through turns both harrowing and humorous, PROFILES explores how an unthinkable act of violence echoes through the lives of the perpetrator's family, as they struggle to find relief and forgiveness in a rapidly disintegrating world.

Who: Open to Playwrights' Center members who want their work read; nonmembers can read, listen or contribute to discussion.

What: A chance for members to get together and read plays. These are informal sessions.

When: Second Sunday of the Month, 5-7 pm Central Time.

Playwrights' Center Jerome Fellow Anna Moench will be in the Lab workshopping a new play. Her workshop will conclude with a readthrough of the play, free and open to the public. No tickets or RSVP necessary.

During this pop-up legal clinic, artists and arts professionals can schedule a 1 hr. appointment to meet face-to-face with an attorney who specializes in arts and entertainment law. Topics covered can range from copyright, trademark and other intellectual property issues to contract review and business organization questions. Limited number of appointments available.
