Join the Playwrights' Center for a benefit to champion playwrights on May 4, 2013, at Uppercut Boxing Gym. There will be plenty of pugilistic entertainment, including the playwright auction, where you can bid on the opportunity to have one of our playwrights write a play on the spot just for you, which will be performed at the end of the night by some of the Twin Cities' finest actors.

Quest for the Pot of Gold is a drama exploring the the world of drug addiction, the ties of family and loved ones, and the challenges and responsibilities associated with being a gay man. 

If you've ever asked the questions Who am I? How did I get here? then you have already started to probe the two most basic questions that make up the story of your life. How you answer these questions for your characters when constructing the arc of your play can mean the difference between a plot that grips your audience from start to finish and one that doesn't. This seminar will not only look at how plot influences your play's structure but provide problem-solving techniques for revising a plot that's gotten away from you.

Who: Open to Playwrights' Center members who want their work read; nonmembers can read, listen or contribute to discussion.

What: A chance for members to get together and read plays. These are informal sessions.

When: Second Sunday of the Month, 5-7 pm Central Time.
