HOW IT WORKS
Want to produce a contemporary play? Commission a new piece? Expose
your students and staff to the craft of playmaking? Enroll in New
Plays on Campus and tap The Playwrights’ Center’s vast
nationwide network of playwrights and information. The Playwrights’ Center
will send scripts, five at-a-time, that answer to member institutions’ particular
needs. Got a one-act festival coming up? Let The Playwrights’ Center
be your “literary manager at large.” We’ll narrow
the pool to meet your requirements, then you select the play or
playwright in ongoing consultation with us. Scripts are drawn from
the Center’s high-caliber Core Members,
Fellows and PlayLabs Artists
(current and former), assuring
a professional commitment to excellence.
WHY WE DO IT
The Playwrights’ Center fuels the theater by providing services
that support playwrights and playwriting. New Plays on Campus serves
that mission by matching writers with development and production
opportunities in a safe, educational, college theater environment … and
in turn, exposes theater artists in training to the world of new
play development.
Who is enrolled?
