Craig Harris is the Interim Director at the Playwrights’ Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He has been Executive Director of the Minneapolis dance troupe Ballet of the Dolls, the Ritz Theater Foundation, and the International Society for the Arts, Sciences, and Technology, and is a former President of the International Computer Music Association. A new-media artist and non-profit arts development and management specialist, he has been consultant to universities and arts organizations on three continents, and holds a Ph.D. in Music Composition from Eastman School of Music. His book Art and Innovation, published by MIT Press, documents collaborations between artists and scientists at Xerox Palo Alto Research Center (PARC). His composition, The Hill Has Something to Say, based on a poem by Rita Dove and commissioned by soprano Renée Fleming, premiered in Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center.
