Submit a Script for AACT NewPlayFest 2026

AACT NewPlayFest aims to support the production of new plays in community theatres and to provide an opportunity for playwrights to have their unpublished plays, published and produced.Produced plays will have their scripts published in an anthology of the winning plays by Dramatic Publishing Company and be available for licensing for 2 years.

No fee for AACT member playwrights; $10 script processing fee for non-members.

AGE in the Arts (Portland | OR)

Legacy Playwright Grants 2024

AGE seeks to change the equity landscape of the American Theatre canon by increasing the representation of BIPOC playwrights 40+ years of age of marginalized gender. Through this initiative, three playwrights receive individual unrestricted grants of $10,000 each and six playwrights receive $1,000 each.

Open to BIPOC playwrights 40 years or older who identify as a person of marginalized gender or gender-diverse. Playwrights must identify as an emerging artist and live in the US or Puerto Rico.

Neukom Institute for Computational Science at Dartmouth College (Hanover | NH)

Neukom Literary Arts Award for Playwriting 2024

This award is an annual collaboration between The Neukom Institute, Dartmouth’s Department of Theater, and Northern Stage. We are inviting playwrights to submit full-length plays and other full length works for theater addressing the question “What does it mean to be a human in a computerized world?” The award comes with a $5,000 honorarium as well as a weeklong workshop and public reading produced by Northern Stage in early 2025.
