Artistic and Administrative Apprentice

Isabella Star LaBlanc is a Sisseton Wahpeton Dakota actress and writer from Minnesota. Onstage, she has been seen at theaters across the country and Twin Cities. Recently, she was seen in the world premiere of Lauren Gunderson’s Peter Pan and Wendy at The Shakespeare Theatre in DC, as well at: Cincinnati Shakespeare Company (August: Osage County); The Jungle Theater (Little Women, The Wolves); and Mixed Blood Theatre (Autonomy). Isabella was a core writer on If These Trees Could Talk premiering in the fall of 2020 at American Players Theatre. Her writing has also been seen at The Guthrie Theater, Penumbra Theater Company, Pangea World Theater and has been featured in The Minnesota Women’s Press. Her script Writing a War Novel was a finalist for the 2017 Yale Young Native Storytellers Festival and her poetry film “Together in Smoke” was featured in Motionpoem’s 2020 Hothouse Festival. She is a current recipient of the Tiwahe Foundation's Artist Grant and an Indigenous Board Member at The Guthrie.
