Submit a Script for AACT NewPlayFest 2026

AACT NewPlayFest aims to support the production of new plays in community theatres and to provide an opportunity for playwrights to have their unpublished plays, published and produced.Produced plays will have their scripts published in an anthology of the winning plays by Dramatic Publishing Company and be available for licensing for 2 years.
Fee: 
No fee for AACT member playwrights; $10 script processing fee for non-members.

The Ryan Hudak LGBTQ+ Dramatic Writing Award

The Ryan Hudak LGBTQ+ Dramatic Writing Award is an annual $8,000 cash grant awarded to one practicing playwright or screenwriter able to demonstrate an ongoing commitment to their creative practice and career. The Award honors the life and work of Ryan Hudak. Applicants will be required to share a statement on how this Award will impact and catalyze their artistic work and practice.

New Relic Theatre (New York | NY)

Call for Submissions for Upcoming Project

New Relic Theatre is seeking playwrights for an upcoming project slated for mid/late Fall 2024. This project will commission an artist to present work that approaches the guiding theme of "Myth" from their unique perspective. NRT will support the selected artist with the development of their project and the logistics of casting, staging, and marketing the project from conception through final curtain. NRT will provide the budget for this production and a commissioning fee for the selected artist, allocated based on the scope and needs of their vision. This production has a commissioning award of $500 and a total production budget of ~$4,000 with some flexibility depending on the size of the project(s) selected.

Open to all playwrights. Unable to offer a travel stipend to out-of-town artists at this time.
