Biography

Gram Slaton was a member of the Playwrights' Center from 1985 to 1990, during which time he was a two-time Jerome Fellow, member of the teaching faculty, and editor of ARTSEARCH.  His works have been produced at Capital Repertory Company in Albany, NY and the Phoenix Theatre in Indianapolis. He was also part of the 1984 and 1987 Midwest Playlabs.  Since leaving Minneapolis, he has served as Administrative Manager for The Empire Center in Albany, and Executive Director at the Community Arts Center (Williamsport, PA), Wheeler Opera House (Aspen, CO), and most recently the Grand Oper House (Macon, GA) for Mercer University.  His plays include Jupiter and ElsewhereThe Pluto AlbumButtonwoodThe Under-Assistant Deputy Advisor, and his recently completed The Poor Bastard.

Affiliated Writer Gram Slaton has been named the new executive director of The Grand Opera House in Macon, Georgia.
