Biography

Mark Jensen is a playwright and author. His plays include Independency, Atomic Summer, Runestone, The Benevolent Women’s Craft Society, and On-Line/Off-Line. He has received several awards and grants, including a 2008 Sloan Foundation Grant from the Ensemble Studio Theatre. He wrote a short film, Zombie Chick, which was screened during the 2011 Vegas Independent Film Festival. Steppingstone Theatre for Youth has commissioned five plays; Tom Sawyer was produced in 2012. He is the co-author of Scripting Our Lives: Oral History Theatre. A history book about Control Data Corporation, HR Pioneers, was published by North Star Press in November 2013.

Successes

My short play, EGG, will be performed as part of the 2015 Ampersand Festival of New Works at the University of St. Thomas in Houston,Texas. The play is one of 11 finalists selected from over 430 entries. The festival runs April 22-25, 2015.

Mark Jensen's short play, Egg, is being performed at Augsburg College in November, directed by student director Mawrgyn Roper, who found the play through the New Plays on Campus program at the Playwrights' Center.
