Biography

Mark Rosenwinkel is a former Core Member, Jerome Fellow, and Play Labs participant at The Playwrights’ Center. He has had numerous plays professionally produced, most notably his adaptation of Moby Dick(Dramatic Publishing Company), which was selected as the North American representative to the World Congress of The International Assn. of Theatre for Young Audiences (ASSITEJ) in Rostov, Russia in 1996. His play Sanctus , developed at The Playwrights’ Center, was named Best Play Script by Writers’ Digest magazine in 2002. In 2006 and 2008, his playWellstone! concerning the life and death of the progressive Minnesota Senator, enjoyed successful productions. A longtime professional actor, he has worked extensively in theatres across the country, including The Guthrie Theater and the Idaho Shakespeare Festival. He currently serves as Chair of The Dept. of Theatre and Dance at Concordia University, St. Paul.
